While they are NOT bookings yet, I learned today that I am on HOLD/1st Refusal for a project I self taped for back in AUGUST of last year. It is through a CD in NY, a former guest of ours, and the client has taken their time to get this off the group. If it happens, it will be a great day on set in late April. I am also on hold for a Saturday project in late April. Maybe the industry is kicking into gear agan? Lastly, you know how Amy Hargreaves talked about "sticking up for yourself", as other guests have? Well, I had to pass on a project this past week, as I felt like the pay was too low for the 2 hour drive and miles each way; so I told my agent I'd do it for another couple of hundred dollars, to pay for that. The CD balked and said, "Thanks, but no thanks.".... SO, having a hunch I knew who the Producer/Director was, another former guest of Actors' Think Tank, I called him directly a week late, JUST to let him know I'd done what I'd done and why... I was right, it WAS his firm doing the project and he said, "... I told my colleague that rate was too low and that the best talent will pass on this..." He added, "I knew you'd need to pass on this and I totally agree with you." That felt good, and confirmed what I think I have, namely a great relationship with a Producer/Director.
